Privacy

Your account. Your email address, your first name, and a mobile number if you add one. We use email to sign you in.

Joining. Which activities you join, whether you brought someone, when you cancelled, whether you said you had arrived, and whether the host recorded that you were there.

Hosting. If you host, the activity details you write, your short host description, and your hosting status.

Interest. The kinds of activity you say you would join and roughly when suits you.

Reports. Anything you send through Need help, including what you describe.

Usage. Basic counts such as an activity being viewed or a join being completed. These records use internal identifiers, not your email address, phone number or anything you wrote.

To show you activities, save your spot, let a host know who is coming, tell you about changes, look into reports, and count how the pilot is going.

We do not sell your information and we do not run advertising.

Anyone, signed in or not: the activity itself and how many people are going. Never who they are.

Other people going: your first name once you have joined the same activity.

Your host: your first name, your mobile number if you added one, and whether you joined, cancelled, arrived or were there.

The SOXIAL team: the small operations team can see accounts, activities, reports and internal notes in order to review hosts and handle problems. Hosts and participants cannot see internal notes.

SOXIAL runs on Supabase, which hosts our database, sign-in and file storage on infrastructure outside South Africa. Sending you a sign-in email involves an email provider. Those providers process this information on our behalf.

We keep your account and participation records for as long as the pilot runs, and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can understand what happened and answer questions. Reports are kept while the pilot runs. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal details and keep only anonymous counts.

You can see and change your first name, mobile number and area on the You page at any time. You can ask us for a copy of what we hold, to correct something, or to delete your account. Ask through Help and we will do it by hand during the pilot.

This pilot is run with the Protection of Personal Information Act in mind. If you think we have something wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
